We have a number of projects and services available for our customers at Grahame Park in Barnet

This is a unique project to transform the estate. The scheme is one of the largest self-funded projects in Europe. It will lead to 3000 new homes, as well as shops, gardens, new parks, and a community hub.

There has also been investment in social and economic initiatives that will improve the lives of our customers. Whether you want help finding a job, are interested in volunteering, or you want to start your own business, we can help you.

Arts & Culture

Commissioned by Notting Hill Genesis, arts and culture aims to improve confidence and creative expression through celebrating the history of the estate and the diversity of the existing community.

The Nail Bar has arrived to Grahame Park! Come along and get your nails done for free!

For young women and girls (aged 12 – 25 years old) living locally. The Nail Bar provides a free nail service, skills training and a wide range of creative activities, including a Braid Bar.

Learn new nail art skills, tips and tricks every Thursday from 3.30pm – 6:30pm in the OLD Library, The Concourse, Grahame Park (Quakers Course).

The team also offers advice and support.

Friday Night Youth Club (8 & above)

Join us for free indoor and outdoor activities including sports, crafts, and much more at Grahame Park Community Centre, The Concourse. Delivered by Colindale Communities Trust.

Fridays, 4 to 7pm (term time only).

Conversation Cafe @ RAF Museum

Do you speak English as a second language? Do you need help with your English speaking and listening? If so, join us as at the ESOL Conversation Café where English speakers will help you start or practise using the language. The RAF Museum with Barnet and Southgate College are working together to run the Conversation Café. We work with all levels.

The Conversation Café runs each week during College Terms throughout the academic year.

Wednesdays 1.00pm – 2.30pm at the RAF Museum.

FREE

To join, turn up at Claude’s Restaurant, RAF Museum, with your personal identification (UK passport, residency card, drivers licence, etc.) to enrol with the College.

Employment and Skills

We provide our residents with a variety of exciting employment and training opportunities. Through our programmes we can help residents to achieve their goals. We can help you with looking for a job, thinking of a career change or looking for training opportunities. For more please e-mail SEI@nhg.org.uk.

We are also offering the following free job clubs:

  • Wednesdays (10am - 12pm) - One Stop Shop

  • Wednesdays (2pm - 4pm)  -  Community Centre (4, The Concourse, London NW9 5XB)

Able, Capable & Employed (ACE)
ACE offers one to one support and advice to Barnet residents to prepare them for suitable jobs. With this project we aim to support 20 people by matching them to paid, supported job opportunities.

We also support host employers. We help them identify and adapt vacancies within their businesses the right candidates can make the most of and succeed in these roles.

Colindale Communities Trust (CCT) - Our strategic partner on Grahame Park

The CCT works in Colindale and Grahame Park developing sustainable projects and partnerships that bring people together to improve the economic and social well-being of the community.

What does the CCT do?

  • Provision and management of community centres and facilities.
  • Identify local needs to influence community services.
  • Connecting partners to help increase the benefit of working together to benefit of the community.
  • Support the improvement of skills, learning and routes to employment. 
  • Ensure and encourage agencies to communicate clear and accessible information.

The One Stop Shop is the community hub at the heart of Grahame Park, located on The Concourse. 

The dedicated team of volunteers and staff offer help, advice and support to residents and visitors. The services on offer include:

  • Free telephone and Wi-Fi access.
  • Help with benefit and money issues.
  • Support and advocacy for residents over 55.
  • London Capital Credit Union.
  • DABB (offering advice and support for people with disabilities).
  • Shared Enterprise Club.
  • The 4Front Project and Youth Reality supporting young people.  

There are also training, meeting rooms, office space and halls for hire at 4 local community venues, some with discounts for residents. 

The Shop is open Monday to Fridays 9.30am to 5pm

Walking Group

The CCT have a walking group initiated to get the community more fit and active. This will be occurring every Friday (10-11am) from the 'One Stop Shop'. It is open to all ages and fitness levels. To find out more, call 020 8200 3014.

 Interested in Volunteering?

Volunteers are a key part of our community and are highly valued.

The CCT works with other local groups and businesses to support residents into volunteering.

We have many positions available covering a range of skills. This includes receptionists, well-being champions, event helpers, IT support and publicity support.

Children and Young People

We now have a range of youth activities in the Grahame Park Community Centre:

  • Multi –sport.
  • Street Dance.

Health and wellbeing programme

The Grahame Park Health & Well-being Project trains residents to be Champions and help others improve their well-being. 

The Champions share information about activities and health services, friendship, and help to develop programmes for residents. They also host a community get together, every Tuesday between 2pm and 4pm at the Grahame Park Community Centre. Everyone is welcome.

Others include:

Yoga – Tuesdays 10am to 11am at the Grahame Park Community Centre.

Belly Dancing – Wednesdays 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the Community Centre, Grahame Park.  

Female Only Fitness Session (all ages) – Fridays 7.15pm to 8.15pm, Grahame Park Community Centre.

Walking Group – Every Friday from 10.00 - 11.00 am

Meeting place: outside the One Stop Shop, 4 - 5 The Concourse, Grahame Park.

· A chance to make friends while getting fit.

· The walks are gentle and suitable for all ages & levels of fitness.

· The route will vary from week to week and may include a cafe stop if members wish.

· Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

· In the event of bad weather, call 020 8200 3014 to check if the walk will take place.

Grahame Park Community Centre

The Trust took over management of the Community Centre last year and with the aim of increasing activities for local people. The centre is available for hire for residents for parties and celebrations for only £50 per hour. If you would like to know more, please call 0208 200 3014 or call into the One Stop Shop.

The Loop @ Grahame Park

Notting Hill Genesis works in partnership with Groundwork London to improve the estate environment, to promote reuse, to reduce waste and fly-tipping. The project is called REPURPOSE and is being delivered on five residential estates in London. A re-purpose E Hub - The Loop @ Grahame Park - has been set up for the residents of the Grahame Park Estate in Barnet.

The free home collection service is up and running and the hub has been open since March 2016. To arrange a collection, please contact Andrea on the number below:

 Tutors United

Notting Hill Genesis has partnered with social enterprise, Tutors United to deliver after school tutoring classes. The classes are for our young residents at both our Grahame Park and Woodberry Down schemes.
